When perusing the dictionary, the word “creative” may be accompanied by a photo of the energetic facilitator of learning; Dr. Christine Obaigwa Owinyi who has combined her strong level of confidence and a blazing spirit as a means to realize her goal of building global innovative alliances and partnerships. Her Motto “Going Beyond the Obvious” gives her the grit to purpose to make a difference anywhere she happens to find a landing. She is founder of GLGL-PUT campaign calling upon everyone to pick up trash(PUT) as a way of giving love (GL) and in turn getting love (GL). She has spearheaded and participated in several programs in Kenya including: Education for Sustainable Development, Global Citizenship Education, Sustainable Development Goals, Peace Education, Gender Issues, Teacher Professional Development, Competence Based Learning, Education Management among others. She is well known for founding of the establishment of Education for Sustainable Development Model Institutions in Kenya with Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI). Her eye is on Collapetition, Prosumer advocacy, Glocalization and talent-preneurship.

She is a member of the Education Expert Committee of the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM), a METIS fellow, a TEDx educator among others.
Through her diligent effort as facilitator, mentor and peace educator, Dr. Owinyi has received numerous invitations to facilitate learning including the highly valued festival in the United Kingdom for the Jews; Limmud at Birmingham, the Launching of African- UK partnership in Manchester, Key note address in national and international conferences, summits and camps,both physically and virtually, parallel to her usual business of capacity developing leaders and managers across Kenya. She has lectured at Kenya Education Management Institute, Masinde Muliro University, Kisii University, Maasai Mara University and taught English and literature in English to High school learners in Kenya. A dynamic personality with wisdom and experience who pours her talents as a highly gifted speaker into audiences across the Nation and beyond, sharing inspirational stories of success, failure, persistence, hard work and how one can inculcate a positive; permanent shift in the quality of life. A much sought after National adviser and Inspirational speaker, who is currently stationed at KEMI as the in-charge of Research, Consultancy and Sustainable Development Programs.
Dr. Owinyi emanates from the Department of Education Planning and Management at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, holds Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees in Education from Egerton University and different Certificates from International institutions including HWPL in Korea, Mashav in Israel and the Open University. She is one leader with a big heart for the planet and all that exists in it.
